Orthopedics And Traumatology Specialist
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat Mutlu was born in 1977 in Istanbul. He completed his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty between 1995-2001. In 1999, he participated in a project on gene and cancer research at the Walther Cancer Institute in the United States.
In 2001, he began his residency in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (Çapa). In 2004, he attended a fellowship program on pediatric and adult hip disorders with Prof. Reinhard Graf in Austria. He became a “Specialist” in 2006, with his thesis titled “Ganz Osteotomy in Young Adult Patients”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Remzi Tözün.
In 2006, as a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology, he completed approximately two years of compulsory service at Erzincan State Hospital, performing over 1,000 surgeries during this period. Between 2007-2009, he worked at Istanbul Bakırköy Acıbadem Hospital. He later served as an Orthopedics and Traumatology specialist in the Medipol Hospitals Group for three years.
Between 2013-2016, he continued his academic career at Istanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital and Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, earning the title of Associate Professor in 2016.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat Mutlu has authored over 50 research articles and reviews in various national and international journals. He has focused particularly on sports surgery, knee and hip arthritis, and has advanced expertise in medical treatment and prosthetic surgery.
He is married, has a daughter, and is fluent in English.
